The unique structure of the “metal Composite” is the core reason Captek’s esthetic qualities are matched with its strength, versatility, and plaque resistance. A layer of “P” material consisting of platinum and palladium in a wax base is adapted to the refractory die and fired. Once fired, this “P” layer with the wax burnt-out becomes the skeletal frame to which the second layer of gold or “G” material is applied. The “G” material, which consist of gold to interpenetrate the remaining spaces in the platinum/palladium mesh forming a uniquely designed skeleton of strong, stable platinum/palladium particles that support the gold. Finally, a proprietary bonder is applied to the coping creating a perfect background for porcelain that looks vital and naturally blends in. |
